Dear Friends of The Extreme History Project,
Heartfelt thanks to our community and family of supporters for helping make 2024 a wonderful year of history in our community! We hope to do it all again, and more in 2025 but we need your help to make that happen. To recap 2024,
-We debuted a second episode of The Story of Us: The Women who Shaped Montana, click here to watch.
– We opened our new exhibit, Illuminating the Shadowed World of Bozeman’s Historic Red-Light District within our building on Mendenhall Street, giving exhibit tours all winter and into the spring.
-We created a new program called, Tales from the Tombstones that debuted this October in Sunset Hills Cemetery
-We developed three new walking tours for you this season including Wheatfields, Railroads and Brewers: Bozeman’s North Side (in partnership with Tinworks Art), Steps Through History: Bozeman’s Southside Black Community, and Historic Tin Ceilings.
-We brought you stellar and meaningful conversations in our The Dirt on the Past Podcast.
–We read six impactful books for our online Book Club.
-We learned more about cemetery history and symbolism at our May Cemetery Workshop in Butte (in partnership with the Foundation for Montana History and the Mai Wah Museum).
-We brought historical characters back from the dead for History after Dark. We strolled down Main Street in historic garb during Sweet Pea Parade and gathered monthly for our Extreme Stitch and Sew-ciety. We partnered with Indigenous Peoples’ Day Montana to bring you programming on Peets Hill in October. We offered woodcut and embroidery classes with artist Kelly Hartman, and so much more!

As you can see, we are a small non-profit with a big agenda and even bigger goals of making history relevant! We have been able to accomplish our mission to bring history to our community in large part because of your generous donations and support.
