On February 12, 2014, a group of researchers conducting analysis of the 12,000 year old Anzick boy’s remains held a press conference announcing their findings at the Montana Historic Society. Eske Willerslev of the University of Copenhagen, Sarah Anzick of Wilsall, Montana, Michael Waters of the University of Texas and The Extreme History Project’s board member Dr. Shane Doyle of Montana State University briefed the press and others on the significant genetic connection between the child’s family and roughly 80% of the Native population of North and South America.
